Quintessential English magazine, Country Life, has partnered with Getty Images, one of the world’s leading providers of imagery, video and multimedia products, to launch a special Diamond Jubilee iPad app.
Diamond Queen features an extraordinary and fascinating collection of beautiful imagery and video footage, giving a glimpse into the life of the Queen through nine decades. With 14 galleries – including early childhood, marriage, public life, horses and daywear – the content has been taken from the extensive Getty Images archive and edited by the Country Life editorial team.
Country Life editor Mark Hedges says; “You could say that this App has been 86 years in the making, as this series of pictures, including some by Lord Lichfield, covers the astonishing breadth of her life. I don’t think such a wonderful collection of images of Her Majesty has ever been put together before. Starting with charming pictures of her childhood, we follow The Queen in her most formal and intimate settings.”
Josh Rucci, senior director media & broadcast, Getty Images, says: “We are delighted to partner with Country Life as the exclusive photo and video source within Diamond Queen. Our coverage of the Queen’s life is extensive and ranges from her early years via Studio Lisa; to coronation and reign through Picture Post, Lichfield Archive, and Tim Graham to name a few; through to contemporary coverage from the present day captured by our award-winning Royal photographers. Getty Images and IPC Media have a terrific history and this partnership demonstrates our mutual objective toward serving the digital audience with the highest-quality editorial and visual content.”
Diamond Queen launches 30th May, a week after Country Life’s 370-page Diamond Jubilee collector’s issue hit the newsstand. Diamond Queen will be available in the app store, priced £3.99.
