IPC SOUTHBANK TO SELL PRACTICAL PARENTING TO MAGICALIA

IPC Southbank today announces it is to sell Practical Parenting to Magicalia.
Jackie Newcombe, managing director of IPC Southbank, says: “Southbank's strategy is to appeal to women through the fashion, beauty and home interest markets and regrettably, Practical Parenting is no longer a strategic fit. Magicalia is currently buying print titles to complement its established web properties, some of which are in parenting, and having recently bought Junior, Junior Pregnancy & Baby and Pregnancy, Baby & You from Future, Practical Parenting is a strong fit.
“I would personally like to thank the Practical Parenting team for doing a fantastic job over the years, and I am sure that Practical Parenting has a bright future with a publisher that is committed to the parenting market.”
Owen Davies, Magicalia's joint managing director says:
“We are delighted to have acquired Practical Parenting and the successful Practical Parenting Awards, to add to our growing portfolio of parenting and pregnancy websites and magazines. We look forward to working with Susie Boone and her talented and well respected team. The acquisition fits neatly with our parenting magazines and leading website thinkbaby.co.uk.”
The sale will complete at the end of January 2008.
