CYCLING WEEKLY UNVEILS RELAUNCHED WEBSITE

June 26, 2006

CW SITE Following the hugely successful redesign of IPC Country & Leisure Media's Cycling Weekly (in March this year), the leading cycling title has relaunched sister site cyclingweekly.co.uk in the run up to this year's Tour De France in July.

As the essential reference point for cycling enthusiasts, the site will introduce a raft of new content and design features, reflecting the changes to the magazine.

Key changes include:

  • Clearly signposted, colour-coded sections, matching those used in the redesigned Cycling Weekly magazine
  • An improved in depth news section which will be updated with up-to-the-minute information – vital for Cycling Weekly to bring it's readers breaking news during the Tour, ensuring its coverage is second to none
  • Dedicated interactive “ticker tape” coverage of the Tour which will be automatically updated every minute
  • A special feature allowing readers to keep track of where riders are at each stage of the race
  • Video highlights from each day's stage of the race
  • A new fitness section, packed full of tips and advice – from how to maximise available cycling time, to choosing the best foods to eat. Cycling Weekly's fitness section will be the best and most reliable source of the latest health and training advice specifically for cyclists
  • A new forum, allowing readers to get in touch with the magazine – and each other. Cycling Weekly editor Robert Garbutt will also hold a fortnightly live web chat in the forum, inviting readers to submit their questions for the magazine's experts to answer
The new cyclingweekly.co.uk will also introduce simplified navigation, a new masthead (as used on the cover of the magazine), a new colour palette, an improved layout and new fonts throughout.

Cycling Weekly
editor Robert Garbutt says: "Since the redesign in March, Cycling Weekly's sales have gone from strength to strength. It's been a fantastic year and our new website will further raise awareness of our revitalised magazine and give us an even bigger boost. Public interest in cycling is at an all time high and relaunching the site on the eve of the Tour de France is perfect timing."
