Hi-Fi News_August Hi-Fi News, the world's longest established hi-fi magazine, is unveiling a major redesign including a raft of new features with its August issue, on sale July 28.

New reader-friendly features, offering top advice, include:

In all of its equipment tests Hi-Fi News has also introduced a brand new ratings and awards system that scores each piece of equipment for spec/features, sound quality, build quality and value for money. There are also awards for best buy and best sound, as well as the Hi-Fi News gold award which goes to products reviewed and rated by the magazine as the absolute state-of-the-art.

The magazine will also introduce a new music section with the very best new releases in classical, jazz, rock, and audiophile (music recorded at a very high standard to deliver top quality reproduction through hi-fi systems).

A revamped news section includes a new gossip column - Hi-Fi Confidential, 60-second interviews with the people behind the latest equipment, and facts and figures from the world of hi-fi.

The design of the title has been given a complete overhaul by Neil Singleton, group art editor at Focus Network. The major design changes include…

  • A more modern and bold masthead that helps to give the cover a more contemporary look
  • A new colour palette featuring cool blues, a contemporary green, aubergine and grey to give a modern, stylish feel
  • A new photographic style using rich colour backgrounds, dynamic angles and stunning close-ups to showcase the world's best hi-fi.

Hi-Fi News editor Steve Fairclough says: “Hi-Fi News celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. But as well as being proud of our past we've decided to focus on the future of hi-fi and music as well as getting closer to our readers with advice and tips that will help everyone - from experienced listeners to hi-fi beginners. Our aim is to make the magazine more accessible to a wider audience and to help people with buying decisions, as well as reflecting the beauty and style of the equipment we review with a stunning new look that delivers quality throughout.”

The new Hi-Fi News goes on sale July 28 at the same price of £3.95.
