THE GOTTA-HAVE-IT GLAMOROUS HIGH STREET FASHION AND CELEBRITY WEEKLY
£18m launch investment over the first two years
Biggest and best magazine launch of 2007
The UK's first high-street fashion weekly!
IPC Media is delighted to unveil its biggest ever launch LOOK in a
joint venture with Groupe Marie Claire. Developed by IPC Connect IPC's market leading women's weeklies division LOOK will be backed by an £18m investment over the next two years.
LOOK will deliver an unparalleled mix of up-to-the-minute affordable fashion, high street shopping advice, celebrity style and gossip. It will be the glossy, fast fashion fix for today's discerning young woman, and will launch with a massive sampling campaign in the week commencing 29 January, with issue one on sale at newsstands on Tuesday, 6 February. The launch will be backed by a major retail and advertising campaign.
Evelyn Webster, managing director of IPC Connect, comments: "Once again IPC is breaking new ground. The high street fashion market has never been hotter, with today's young women living out their decade of indulgence and spending more than ever before on their weekly fashion fix. LOOK will deliver perfectly to this audience attracting a whole new generation of young women to this sector.
LOOK is the culmination of 18 months of intensive development work, and is edited by Ali Hall, one of the most dynamic and successful editors of her generation. Ali joined IPC to develop the project in April 2005.
Ali says: There is a generation of confident, bright and ambitious young women across the UK not currently served by the magazines out there. These women want it all, and they want it right now. LOOK will be the perfect high street filter for them.
LOOK publishing director Julie Lavington comments: "Ali has pulled together an incredibly talented 40-strong editorial team, supported by the award-winning Lottie Berridge, IPC Connect's group creative director. They absolutely understand the DNA of our target reader, and will deliver to young women across the UK their gotta-have-it high street fashion fix every single week.
LOOK is the latest title from the IPC Media launch programme that was initiated by chief executive Sylvia Auton in 2003 and has seen the company create the men's weekly sector with Nuts, reinvent the real life category with Pick Me Up and drive innovation in the TV weeklies with TV easy.
Commenting on the joint venture, Sylvia adds: IPC and Groupe Marie Claire have been jointly publishing Marie Claire here in the UK to enormous acclaim for the last 18 years and we also jointly publish Avantages and Famili in France. The opportunity to extend and deepen this highly successful partnership through the launch of LOOK was simply too good to miss. This launch will perfectly complement our monthly fashion titles, the iconic Marie Claire and incredibly successful In Style.
Groupe Marie Claire chief executive Arnaud de Contades adds: LOOK is a truly innovative magazine and we are delighted to be launching in the UK with IPC. Our joint venture is one of the most successful and long-standing business partnerships in UK media.
