IPC MEDIA CONFIRMS DX MEDIA TO END LICENCE ARRANGEMENT FOR NME RADIO

June 11, 2010

IPC Media today confirms that DX Media, which launched NME Radio under licence, has announced its intention to terminate the arrangement.

NME Radio will continue online, broadcasting on NME's award-winning website, at www.nme.com/radio. The website reaches over 4.2 million unique users every month.

DX Media launched NME Radio on a number of digital platforms in 2008, as a 24 hour music service specialising in modern cutting-edge indie alternative rock music; and recently won a coveted Sony Radio Academy Award for its “groundbreaking concept and extremely fresh approach and sound.”

NME publishing director Paul Cheal says: “We have enjoyed a great working relationship with DX Media and we would like to thank them for all the excellent work that has gone into NME Radio.

“Meanwhile, we will continue to develop ways in which NME's audience can engage with both audio and visual content utilising our in-house studio facilities whilst maintaining an online music service via our award-winning music website NME.COM.”
