JACKIE HATTON NAMED EDITOR OF WOMAN

March 23, 2006

Woman 27 March IPC Connect publishing director Oswin Grady today announces the appointment of Jackie Hatton as editor of Woman.

Jackie's experience in the UK women's weeklies market is extensive, with a fantastic track record within IPC Media. Currently deputy editor of sister title Woman's Own, she initially joined IPC in 1987, working in various roles on monthly brand Woman & Home. After a spell freelancing for a range of monthly and weekly titles, she rejoined IPC in 2000 as deputy features editor on Woman's Own. Subsequently she was promoted features editor and was named deputy editor in May 2005.

Oswin says: “Woman and Woman's Own are massive brands read by millions of women every week. Jackie's talent and wealth of experience in understanding the dynamics of this demanding weekly sector will stand Woman in fantastic stead for the next phase of the magazine's evolution.”

Jackie adds: “I'm delighted to be joining Woman and look forward to working with the team to truly release the potential of this fabulous household name.

“I take with me fond memories of my time at Woman's Own and would like to thank my former colleagues, and especially Woman's Own's editor Elsa McAlonan, for all the wonderful support I have received during my time there.”

Jackie begins her new role on Woman on immediate effect.
