With festival season upon us and around 70 events due to take place across the summer, NME - the world's biggest-selling music weekly – is offering readers the ultimate CD to get in the mood, featuring 15 massive festival anthems.
The CD – entitled Festival – will be covermounted, free with the issue of NME on sale today and will showcase the best acts, old and new, that form part of the festival calendar.
Labelled '15 songs to soundtrack your summer', Festival features tracks from exciting new bands and festival headlining acts such as Boy Kill Boy, The Ordinary Boys, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Automatic and Fall Out Boy. It also includes fantastic live tracks from Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight and Franz Ferdinand.
Festival will be supported by a TV campaign across MTV Networks, a nationwide radio campaign and a print campaign reaching 3million people.
Festival follows the publication of Festival Times - the first newspaper produced under the NME name for nearly twenty years. Published with the May 27 issue of NME, Festival Times included everything readers need to know to get the best out of this year's biggest festivals including NME's tips for the 20 “must-see” new bands playing this summer.
Festival will be covermounted with this week's issue of NME, which also includes NME's track-by-track verdict on Thom Yorke's first solo album, 'The Eraser'.
This week's issue is on sale today, priced £1.95.
