Coca Cola is promoting the launch of its Powerade Aqua+ sports water drink with a four-page advertisement and pop-up bound into the July issues of IPC SouthBank magazines Marie Claire and In Style.
The solus campaign consists of four card pages covering the benefits of the drink, plus a pop-up of a Powerade Aqua+ bottle.
The deal showcases creative ad mechanics from IPC Innovator, the centralised department for insert and print-technology, and comes hot on the heels of the launch of IPC's Access All Areas initiative. Access All Areas makes it simpler for advertisers and their agencies to unlock essential planning information, consumer insight and creative resources through a simplified structure with clear points of entry.
Susan Nuttall, IPC Innovator's creative co-ordinator, and Tony Giordani press manager at Vizeum, brokered the deal. The creative is by Nitro.
Simon Pick, Powerade brand manager, comments: “The brief was to announce in a highly impactful manner that Powerade Aqua+ had arrived and to explain the product benefits to our core female target audience. The creative and the titles work really well together and will allow us to achieve this objective.”
Susan adds: “The pop-up for Powerade Aqua+ gives great stand-out and will certainly get the new drink noticed by the core female target audience. Magazine advertisements can be about so much more than display pages and this is a perfect example of Access All Areas at work.”
