STEVE KENDALL CAPTAINS IPC MARINE BRANDS

June 29, 2006

Steve Kendall IPC Country & Leisure Media (CALM) today announces the appointment of Steve Kendall as publisher of Motor Boat & Yachting, Motor Boats Monthly and Europe's leading marine portal ybw.com.

Steve moves to the market-leading marine portfolio from Country Life, where he has been publisher of the print and online business since March 2004.

In his role as publisher Steve has overseen the launch of Country Advertiser, a quarterly classified-led publication acting as an umbrella brand for all of CALM's country titles, allowing Country Life to access new country markets. He has also overseen the publication of sponsored supplements to Country Life such as City Life, and independent, contract magazines such as City Championships.

He says: "I'm really looking forward to working on the boating magazines and ybw.com. They're great brands and with ybw.com we have one of the strongest websites at IPC. Working on Country Life has been a fantastic experience - it's a wonderful magazine with a great team, but the opportunity of working in a new market was too great to ignore."

Simon Owen, publishing director of IPC Marine Media, says: "It's great to be able to appoint an executive of such high calibre to this position - Steve's publishing talent, expertise and enthusiasm will be an enormous asset to the business."

Steve takes up his new position July 17.
