IPC tx announces today the appointment of Alison Gardner as deputy editor of iconic TV weekly, TVTimes.
Currently the magazine's highlights editor for the Pick of the Day pages, Alison joined TVTimes in 1989 as features sub editor, later moving to listings sub editor. Alison's career also includes 11 years in Australia working as features editor, writer and chief sub editor on a range of women's titles.
In her new role, Alison will be responsible for the development of covers; future planning for the magazine and building stronger contacts within the industry.
Ian Abbott, TVTimes editor, says: “I'm delighted to appoint Alison as deputy editor. Her extensive magazine experience and in-depth knowledge of TVTimes make her the ideal person for this role.”
Alison adds: “I'm thrilled to become deputy editor of TVTimes. It is a fantastic magazine. I look forward to working with Ian and the rest of the team to take the magazine to further success.”
Alison takes up the deputy editor post on July 3 and replaces Ian Abbott who was appointed editor at the end of March.
