Uncut – IPC ignite!'s leading music and movie magazine – today announces a three year deal with the UK's biggest festival organiser, Mean Fiddler, to support their groundbreaking new summer festival, Latitude.
More than just a music festival, the three day event incorporates music, film, literature, poetry, comedy, theatre and much more, bringing something unique and different to the British summer calendar.
Uncut will be the official sponsor of one of the festival's three live music arenas, which will showcase an eclectic range of alternative music over the three days (July 14 – July 16).
The Uncut magazine Live Music Arena 2 will be bursting with explosive talent all weekend with acts including brilliant singer/songwriter Regina Spektor, slam poet Saul Williams, The Pipettes, Scritti Politti, Mercury Music Award winners Gomez, Eel Pie heroes Mystery Jets, Simple Kid, Peeping Tom, as well Nicky Wire of the Manic Street Preachers with his first ever solo performance exclusively at Latitude.
The festival will be previewed online at www.uncut.co.uk including news and preview stories prior to the event, and a blog and picture gallery after the event. Sister site, NME.com, will also be including coverage online, along with a competition to win tickets to the event.
And following the event, Uncut will also produce a double page review feature in the magazine.
IPC ignite! senior marketing manager Nick New says: “Latitude is the most exciting newcomer to the festival circuit, and Uncut is delighted to be hosting the second stage as part of our commitment to great new music. Latitude's unique and interesting twists are exactly why it's such a good fit for Uncut. You'll have to go to believe it. If you can't, make sure you read about it in the magazine and on the website!”
Melvin Benn, Mean Fiddler's managing director of Festivals adds: “It's a great fit. Uncut and Latitude complement each other so well musically that it is an obvious and very pleasing partnership for ourselves, the bands and the audiences. That Uncut wants to partner this, the first year of Latitude, really is a testament to the offering that is the inaugural Latitude Festival'.”

About Latitude
Latitude, inspired more by European festivals is set in the beautiful, sweeping grounds of the historic Henham Park Estate, Southwold, in Suffolk. Unlike UK festivals that stop at midnight when the headline band finishes, Latitude believes the fun should never end. All day and all night random and surreal situations will present themselves. A throbbing hive of activity will bustle on the banks of the ground's stunning winding lake. Wandering around, popping in and out of tents you may, over a period of an hour, sing karaoke, be mesmerised by a magician who plays with your mind and perceptions, laugh so much it hurts at a comedian you're not even familiar with, tango with a stranger and watch beautiful burlesque that may just inspire you to try it for yourself.
The new Latitude Festival will take place July 14, 15 and 16 at the beautiful Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk. Go to www.latitudefestival.co.uk for more details.
