Southcott Farm in Devon has been voted by H&H readers as one of their favourite venues for cross-country schooling. It has a mini course for beginners, as well as a course with a range of fences for more experience combinations.

Location: Winkleigh, Devon, EX198LF
How to get there: From Exeter leave the A30 at Whiddon Down. Follow signs to Winkleigh joining the A3124. The course is 4 miles down this road. From Cornwall come off the A30 at Sourton and follow signs for A386 to Follygate/Hatherleigh. Turn right onto the A3072 towards Winkleigh. Turn left onto the A3124, the course is four miles from this junction.
Cost: Adults: £15 per horse; Under 16: £12 per horse; Mini course: £8 per horse. Reductions for groups and clubs.
